This Saturday marks the 3rd annual Saratoga Beer Summit. This year’s event will feature more than 150 different beers from more than 80 American craft breweries. The Saratoga Beer Summit not only offers three hours of unlimited beer sampling, but also access to the best craft beer right here in Upstate New York – including Magic Hat, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, and more!
Rise of Craft Beer Industry
The craft beer market is booming! With double-digit sales growth last year and approximately 250 new breweries popping up around the country, the craft beer industry has become more popular than ever. The desire to purchase locally has also influenced the rise of the craft beer industry. Many grassroots organizations led by beer enthusiasts and brewers are emerging to help protect and promote independent craft breweries. These folks are single-handedly spearheading the buy-local movement.
New Generation of Beer Drinkers
According to beer industry analysts, there’s a new generation of beer drinkers among us. This generation is twenty-something and less likely to drink their parents’ beer. Instead, they purchase alcohol that is pleasing to the palate. This generation believes in quality over quantity. They’re also open minded and willing to try new beers. This works in the craft brewery's favor. The variety of beer is significantly higher than it was ten years ago. In the past, you were limited to Budweiser or Coors Light. Today there are more than 10+ different beers on tap at some establishments. This allows craft brewers to experiment more and come out with new styles of beer each year.
Saratoga Beer Summit
The Saratoga Beer Summit brings together the best of both worlds. It gives the craft breweries a place to exhibit their beer in front of thousands of loyal beer enthusiasts. This event will have many of the best local, regional and national brewers bringing both their well-known, year round and less common seasonal brews. For one day only, beer drinkers can sample beer, eat delicious food and enjoy live music in Upstate New York. Well, what are you waiting for? Purchase your tickets
